I recorded my voice while playing freelance horror games; scp-087-b and slender sanatorium. This was so i could get genuine reactions to use as stock voice clips for future use. Some pretty interesting stuff came out. Oh my god when this scream came out of my mouth, i started laughing hysterically, like i couldn't believe that came from me. Pretty useful though, huh?.

Inspired by ben croshaw's point 'n' click horror adventure games, i decided i'd try and see if i can make my own creepy whispers using audacity. This is basically some whispered lines and some really low-volume screams superimposed on one another, with some of these lines reversed. I made this on march 2012 and was recorded on my netbook's slightly damaged built-in mic.

Why does everything i upload sound like people screaming and/or chainsaws!?. Sound source is a contact mic producing feedback into various fx. The main fx used for the clip are a sirkut electronics gnarler, boss metal zone, dod grunge, and finally, a danelectro french fries auto wah. Recorded direct-to-sound card as usual. This is a sample taken from a longer piece.

This is a short sample from a noise track i just completed. It sounds a lot like someone screaming/roaring into a microphone, but it's actually a roland juno-6 played through various fx pedals (boss metal zone, boss xtortion, boss me-30 on ring mod setting, danelectro fish & chips, and a sprinkling of various other fx pedals throughout the recording). Effects used: behringer micro-mixer (used here as a "clean boost/volume effect), sirkut electronics gnarler, danelectro eq, boss xtortion, and boss metal zone, with various other fx sprinkled throughout. The sound of something or someone shrieking rhythmically in the cemetery while i was passing by around midnight. The shrieking went for probably 30 seconds at a time, with pauses of around 30 seconds in between. I recorded it on my cell phone, so it's terrible quality.

Glitchy robot scream, made for a game with robot enemies. I made it by using audacity's "import raw data" function to import random program files which creates all kinds of crazy noises. (all the sounds in this pack came from the files of an emulated ps2 game. ) i then put a vocoder on the sounds i found to make them sound even more robotic.
